Special Feature: Culinary Travel

Erika Lenkert

In her hometown of San Francisco it was impossible for journalist Erika Lenkert (erika@lastminutepartygirl.com) to avoid a firsthand education in food and wine. When she wasn't peeking over her gourmand mother's shoulder in the kitchen she was out sampling the city's most eclectic restaurants, from the Mission's Mexican joints to North Beach's finest seafood and pasta houses. After graduating from U.C. Berkeley and working as an editor at HarperCollins Publishers she began writing travel guides for Frommer's (San Francisco, Wine Country, and California) and about food, wine, and travel for San Francisco Magazine, Los Angeles Magazine, Bon Appetit, Travel & Leisure, InStyle, Bride's, and Wine Country Living. She now writes In Style's entertaining guide and is the author of the highly heralded entertaining guide and cookbook, "The Last-Minute Party Girl: Fashionable, Fearless, and Foolishly Simple Entertaining." When she's not traveling the globe in search of dining adventure, Erika divides her time between San Francisco and Napa Valley.
