Hyatt Grand Champions Resort Villas & Spa in Indian Wells, California

by Sally Bernstein

Care to be pampered? If you are planning a trip to the Palm Springs area, consider a stay at the Hyatt Grand Champions Resort Villas & Spa in Indian Wells, California. This 45-acre property includes lush gardens and shimmering fountains. We could not have asked for better service. There are people in the lobby to help you make golf arrangements, dinner reservations and sightseeing plans. Relax in the award-winning spa, play a round of championship golf or swim in one of their seven pools. There is something for everyone. Get your exercise on their hard surface tennis courts or play badminton. Here are a few more specifics: Agua Serena Spa & Salon Including the Medical and Skin Spa; Indian Wells Golf Resort with 36 Award-Winning Holes; Tennis, Biking, Badminton, Bocce Ball & Table Tennis and Seven Pools, Including a Water Slide & Adult Pool with Cabanas.

The 530 guest rooms have Garden, Mountain, Golf or Pool Views. One & Two Bedroom Villas with Backyard Spa & Butler Service are also available. And dogs are accepted in these quarters as the villas are fenced in. There is the Regency Club Floor, Penthouse Suites and Specialty Suites with King or Queen Hyatt Grand Beds & iHome Stereo with iPod Docks.

Dining and Entertainment options include the Lantana Restaurant, Pianissimo Lounge with Live Entertainment, The Oasis Pool Bar & Roadrunner Cafe, and the Espresso Deli & Cafe with Internet Access (off the lobby). And the golf course pro shop has a lovely bar and restaurant. Indoors are big screen televisions for the sports addicts and a patio overlooking the golf course area.

Lantana serves both inside and out on the patio. Contemporary California Cuisine is expertly executed by Chef de Cuisine Kieran Fleming. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are offered. Start your day with Starbucks coffee, offered throughout the hotel. Move on to such breakfast classics as crab cake Benedict or corned beef hash. Lunch offers a mix of salads, pizzas and sandwiches. Think Maine lobster salad, traditional cobb salad, herbivore wood-fired pizza or Angus burgers.

Dinner is special with an upscale menu offering Caesar salad with a white anchovy, Korean short ribs, and duck confit lumpia. Entrees include three shellfish, or lobster beet hash, sea scallops, and a big ol' prawn; two fish that used to swim, including cous cous, sultana, pine nut and basil relish and porcini dusted filet mignon. Desserts are the traditional with two novel offerings. Gone bamboo is a mix of coconut milk tapioca, exotic mango gelee, passion fruit pineapple sorbet and crystallized cilantro. Dates three ways includes warm date cake, date pistachio gelato, date bread cracker and hot toffee sauce. As dates are indigenous to California, this dessert fits right in. And if all else fails, room service is open round the clock, except 12 midnight to 6 a.m.

And if it is a meeting or event you need to book, the Hyatt has 88,000 square feet of Indoor & Outdoor Function Space; a Full-Service Business Center; Offsite Event Catering and Expert Onsite Meeting Planners & Audiovisual Staff.

So go and enjoy this ultimate elegant oasis in Indian Wells. You deserve to be pampered every once in a while. Finding the will to leave may be the hardest part of your visit.
