Recipes from Kat's Kitchen Collective, a New Website from a Former Executive Chef


Katherine Humphus is the  former BO-Beau Executive Chef from San Diego, California. She was hired at age 22 by the Cohn Restaurant Group to run their new restaurant and rose quickly up the ranks opening 3 restaurants for them.  Now, at age 26, she is turning in her toque for a computer.  Kat's Kitchen Collective (katskitchencollective.com) is an attractive new website which debuted on January 1st of this year.  And recipes are not all you'll find here, although many of these recipes are from the kitchens of Paris, New York, and Napa Valley. Kat is a classically trained Chef and a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France. She has spent time in famous New York kitchens as well as under world-renowned chef Thomas Keller at The French Laundry in Napa Valley.  

 

Back to Kat's new website. She is offering  "Top 5 Recipes in Under 5 Minutes" if you sign in with your email address.  There are cooking tips and tricks as the website is dedicated to bridging the gap between the professional chef and the everyday kitchen. And coming soon: online courses featuring full menu's and advanced techniques at all skill levels.

These new Safe Catch canned tunas will be available April 6th. This tuna is traceable from sea to table and is bought  from captains whose catch methods minimize environmental impact. There are 3 different tins: Wild Albacore, Wild Albacore (no salt added) and Wild Skipjack.  Safe Catch raw packs its tuna, sealing in all of the nutrients, and then cooks it in a proprietary process that yields a less fishy taste (I csn personally attest to that).
