March Food Events Calendar

March is what I call a "swing" month.  Although some states are seeing lovely flowers and mild temperatures, others are still experiencing winter weather.  And what a winter this has been. But it is time to be rid of the winter doldrums and get out of the house.  Become more active, it's good for you.  Below you will find a sampling of March food events in various states across the U.S. Follow the links for more information about each of these events.

36th Annual Barrel Tasting Wine Road - Northern Sonoma County, California

100+ Wineries! Two Weekends: Feb 28-Mar 2 & March 7-9.

This is your chance to sample wines from the barrel, talk to winemakers and explore the beautiful Alexander, Dry Creek and Russian River Valleys. Many wineries offer "futures" on their barrel samples,  your chance to purchase wine now, often at a discount, then come back to the winery when the wine is bottled, typically in 12-18 months. For more information, click here.

Maple Days in Sturbridge

Weekends March 1-30; 1 Old Sturbridge Village Road,  Sturbridge, Massachusetts; When the flowers wake up, so do the maple trees. Professional historians and educators at Old Sturbridge Village demonstrate early New England maple sugar-making at the village's own working Sugar Camp. Visitors can experience the entire sugar-making process, from tapping the trees to "sugaring off."  For more information, click here.

The Aermate is designed to aerate an entire bottle or single glass in seconds. It has been shown to improve the taste of wine, awaken its natural aroma, and enhance its drinkability.
