Let's put the "thanks" in Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving is just that, a chance to give thanks for the sights, sounds, smells, and feelings of the holiday and to reflect on all the things we are thankful for and cherish throughout the year.
If you are planning a holiday meal, your guests will expect the following dishes at Thanksgiving: turkey, turkey gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, yams, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. Of course, offering some vegetables would help cut the starch component. Whatever you decide to serve, enjoy your time with family and friends.
And remember this Thanksgiving quote: May your stuffing be tasty, May your turkey plump, May your potatoes and gravy have nary a lump. May your yams be delicious and your pies take the prize, and may your Thanksgiving dinner stay off your thighs! --Unknown

Sally's Recommendations
Newman's Own® Organics If you haven't tasted Newman's Own® Organics Ginger Snaps and Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies, you need to do so. These are the newest additions to their "Family Recipe Cookies" which includes the already popular Chocolate Chip, Orange Chocolate Chip and Double Chocolate Chip cookies. These cookies are vegan friendly and the suggested retail price is $3.49. For information, click here. Clarksburg Wine Company The Clarksburg appellation is nestled along the Sacramento River in northern California and is composed of various soils including sandy loams and dense clay. "Clarksburg has proven itself to be the best viticulturally for Chenin Blanc," says wine writer Gerald Asher. Clarksburg has three new wines: 2010 Chenin Blanc VS (Vouvray Style at $24), Chenin Blanc ($16), and Chenin Viognier ($16). For more information, click here. Dave's Gourmet The Presidential election is upon us and Dave's Gourmet wants to see if a hot sauce can predict the outcome. They are selling two sauces: the Barack Obama Adjustable Origin Hot Sauce and the Mitt Romney Adjustable Opinion Hot Sauce (profits go to Cancer research). Every bottle sold is a vote for that candidate and there is a tracking poll on Dave's Gourmet's website at www.davesgourmet.com.
Coyote Oaties
Gourmet oatmeal cookies is the name of the game at this Glendale, Arizona business owned by a Mother and Daughter team. They ship across the U.S. and deliver locally. These are big cookies and are sold by the 1/2 dozen or dozen. I heated mine until the chocolate chips melted and thoroughly enjoyed them. Various flavors include: Dark Chocolate Cashew, Milk Chocolate Walnut, Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate Cashew, Raisin Walnut, and White Chocolate Macadamia. Cookie crates with your company logos are available. For information, click here.
tsp spices
This year, add some extra flavor to the season and blend your own pumpkin pie spice. It's easy with tsp spices. The pumpkins are ready for carving, the apples are ready for bobbing. It's Fall and time to enjoy the fruits of the harvest. Each tin contains 12 one-teaspoon packets of organic spice. The packets seal in flavor and keep out air, light and moisture. So each time you open a packet, it's like opening a brand new bottle. For information, click here.
