Joan Simon (jsimon@reservationstonight.com) has a track record of improving the bottom line for restaurants - large and small - through practical, hands on marketing and communications techniques. As principal of Full Plate Restaurant Consulting (www.fullplateconsulting.com) , her network of hospitality professionals is both deep and wide.
As owner of San Francisco's premier conference concierge service "Reservations Tonight" (www.reservationstonight.com) and a website that serves over 5000 unique visitors each month, Joan has her finger on the pulse of what attracts both local and out of town diners. As publisher of the "San Francisco Dining Companion" used by 200+ working hotel concierges, Joan also has a practical perspective on Menu Creation, Design, Identity and Branding.
Having conducted a variety of restaurant seminars, Joan is also called upon by the press to give her insight into the mistakes (as well as the successes) that restaurants and hospitality businesses experience. Joan is a member in long standing of the Golden Gate Restaurant Assn, the California Restaurant Association and the SF Convention& Visitors Bureau. She provides pro bono advice to La Cocina, an incubator kitchen for micro food specialty companies, has been a guest speaker at San Francisco State’s Entrepreneur program. For 2007 she on the steering committee and co-chair for “Eat Local San Francisco”, a weeklong event that promotes local restaurants, markets, farmers and food manufacturers. Prior to starting her own company, Joan was with Castle & Cooke Inc (now Dole Corp).
